Modern rendering technology for sustainable slaughterhouse operations
ATH. FASOULAS-DIM. NTOUFAS & CO is a Greek meat processing company operating as a partnership between Athanasios Fasoulas and Dimitrios Ntoufas.
The company manages the Municipal Slaughterhouse of Oichalia in Trikala and operates a dedicated waste management facility, combining traditional slaughterhouse operations with modern environmental compliance.
Euromac was contracted to design and install a comprehensive rendering line engineered for animal waste from goats, cattle and pigs.
Meeting Greek and EU requirements for biological waste treatment
The municipal slaughterhouse faced a major operational challenge: all waste generated from slaughtered animals must undergo proper biological treatment to prevent public health risks and environmental pollution.
Traditional disposal methods were no longer acceptable, creating both compliance pressure and financial pressure for the facility.
- Safe treatment of animal by-products
- Compliance with Greek and EU regulations
- Reduced public health and environmental risk
- Lower waste disposal costs
- Improved long-term operating efficiency
Complete refurbished rendering line
Euromac delivered a fully refurbished rendering line centered around an Oestergaard batch cooker, integrating crushing, pressing, heat recovery and material handling into one complete system.
Oestergaard Batch Cooker
Nominal loading capacity of 5,000 kg per batch for municipal slaughterhouse operations.
Oestergaard Crusher
Continuous and efficient size reduction of raw animal by-products before cooking.
MIG Fat Press
Continuous pressing of fat from cooked and dried animal and poultry by-products.
Shell Heat Exchanger
Condenses steam and process gases back into water, reducing operational costs.
Custom Conveyors & Silos
Custom-built integration finished in the client’s preferred color scheme.
Engineered to turn slaughterhouse waste into a controlled production process
The installation combines older generation refurbished systems with new Euromac-built components, creating a reliable and cost-efficient rendering line.
The batch cooker provides the main thermal treatment stage, while the crusher prepares raw material, the fat press recovers valuable rendered fat and the heat exchanger improves energy efficiency.
